If A Tree Falls is a speculative research and an ongoing project involving a series of multimedia works, currently manifesting as a dual-channel video installation that explores the convoluted relationality and innate connotation between identity, nature, and politics by looking at the Tree as a historical, rhetorical, and contested entity/life form and a more-than-human witness, and contemplating power dynamics structures within a politically suffocating atmosphere.
Omar is an artist, researcher, and designer based in Berlin and working across digital imagery, sound, coding, writing, and performative instances. Their expanded artistic practice investigates the complex entanglement between human cognition, constructed environments, and technology through a geo-specific lens that meditates on the constructed borders of the human realm. Their recent projects and ongoing research explore the human psyche in cyberspace, hope and defeat dichotomy in political imaginaries, deep time, hegemony, and the geospecific.
