WIP Arts & Technology Festival, organized annually by CYENS Centre of Excellence invites artists and researchers from around the world to showcase their work. 

WIP Arts & Technology festival is set to return for the third consecutive year from October 20th to November 3rd. This year’s festival with the title Modes of Creation, embraces a range of mediums, including media artworks, interactive games, installations, live performances, talks, and workshops, designed to showcase the intersection of art and technology.

Modes of Creation comes in celebration of the intersection between art and technology. Creatives and researchers increasingly come together to fathom and question possibilities of an alternative future, providing notions on where fiction ends, and the Anthropocene starts. 

Stretching the boundaries of traditional art forms and technologies, this year’s WIP festival invites participants to explore new modes of creation, reimagine the future and bring discourse around the infusion of creative thinking and technology. 

Calling artists, designers, creatives, media professionals, academics, engineers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to present work within the realms of ER, AR, VR, games, physical Installations, interactive installations, performances, talks & workshops.  

Applications will be reviewed by the festival committee based on set criteria. Selected participants will be notified via email in the second week of July.

📍 Location: premises of CYENS Centre of Excellence, at 23 Lellos Demetriades Square, 1016, Nicosia Cyprus, and neighbouring venues in the historic old town of Nicosia.

The CYENS Centre of Excellence. Established in 2018 as a non-profit organization, in the walled city of Nicosia, through securing a competitive proposal from the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 funding program to support research and innovation. The project is coordinated by the Municipality of Nicosia, partnering with the three public universities of Cyprus, and the European scientific institutions University College London (UCL) and Max Planck Institute (MPI), and supported by the Republic of Cyprus. The Centre is active in the fields of Interactive Media, Smart Systems, and Emerging Technologies and conducts interdisciplinary and applied research in a wide range of disciplines.
